Executive Certificate Programs
Why an Executive Certificate?
Patient safety and quality management are disciplines in the healthcare sector. The safety science goal is to achieve a trustworthy system of healthcare delivery. Patient safety is also an attribute of health care systems; it minimizes the incidence and impact of, and maximizes recovery from, adverse events. Graduate Certificate programs are currently being introduced in recognition of patient safety and quality as disciplines.
The innovation of the Executive Certificate CQSL program specifically supports both the overall mission of the University as well as the specific priorities for the Georgetown University campus and Medical Center. The high ranking of the Georgetown University Medical Center (GUMC) as an internationally recognized academic medical center whose missions of research, teaching and patient care are carried out with a strong emphasis on community outreach and the Jesuit principle of cura personalis will allow this program to differentiate itself in the marketplace. A fundamental tenet of the program is that all healthcare professionals must work in concert toward the well being and safety of each patient. The Executive Certificate CQSL will allow learners across the United States access to the safety science and quality educational opportunity provided by our University.
