Application Requirements
Applicants are to submit all required credentials and supporting documentation no later than the application deadlines listed above. Applications are reviewed on a rolling, space-available basis.
Non-U.S. citizens: Due to the nature of our fully online certificate program, non-U.S. citizens need to do all coursework from outside the United States, or be here in the U.S. under a non-student visa that allows incidental study. Our fully online certificate program can admit domestic and international applicants.

Our online program uses Canvas, YouTube, Google Drive and other platforms. Students should confirm that they have a reliable internet connection and the ability to access each of these platforms before applying/registering. Every effort is made to ensure that course content and materials can be accessed by all students, but we cannot guarantee this. A variety of circumstances may affect the ability to access course content and materials, including internet access issues, firewalls and hardware limitations. Students who are unable to access course content and materials will not be able to complete the program/course, and will receive a refund consistent with Georgetown’s Main Campus refund policy .
Write an essay explaining why you are interested in pursuing this specific certificate and why you are a strong candidate for the program. Your response should be one to two pages, typed and double-spaced. Please address the following questions in your response:
What are the specific academic and professional qualities you possess that could help you excel in this program?
What goals do you hope to achieve if you are accepted into this program?
Applicants to any Georgetown program may choose to submit an Optional Statement that addresses diversity, personal background and contributions to community. A detailed prompt for the statement can be found in the application.
All applicants are required to demonstrate a level of proficiency in the English language sufficient to meet the admission requirement of the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. Follow the TOEFL/IELTS instructions in Admissions FAQ to determine whether you need to send us test scores to prove your English language proficiency.
